We'll Never Tell
Kayla Perrin

"Phoebe loves her sorority, Alpha Sigma Pi, and most of her sisters. Her life seems to be running smoothly: she's engaged to a gorgeous football player, and everything seems perfect. Until Shandra James becomes a pledge. Shandra is a legacy--her mother is high up in alumni circles--and she's also a man-stealer. It's sport to her. And now she is after Phoebe's fiance, Henry.

Phoebe and two of her sorority sisters, Miranda and Camille, cook up a plan to teach Shandra a relatively harmless lesson--but it ultimately ends in murder. Phoebe isn't sure who killed Shandra, she only knows that she has to keep her name out of it. With betrayal swirling around the house, can Phoebe hold on to her man, protect her sorority sisters, and avoid becoming the next victim?"

Author Q&A

1. What do you like to do in your free time?
Free time?  What free time??  LOL.  Okay, so I do have moments when I'm not writing or being a mom, and in those quiet moments, I really like to read.  I love movies as well, and now I have a huge DVD collection.  Settling back on the sofa and watching a movie is something I love to do.  Yeah, I'm a home body, but that doesn't mean I don't like to get out on occasion.  When the film festival is in town, I love getting dressed up and going to some film festival parties.  Inevitably, there are some stars at these parties (like Samuel Jackson!) and I always get a kick out of that.

2. What kind of music do you like to listen to? Why?
The music I enjoy really depends on my mood.  I like a variety of music.  Sometimes, I love to listen to hardcore hip-hop—like when I'm driving.  Other times, I like slow jams.  I often have slow jams playing while I'm writing my novels.  Lately, I've been listening to a lot of old school—EPMD, LL Cool J, Tupac.  I'll never tire of old school.

3. What's your all time favorite movie? Why?
This is an extremely hard question.  How can I pick just one movie?  Okay, I'll try.  I have often said that The Shawshank Redemption is my favorite movie.  It's such an uplifting story.  But then there's also Thelma and Louise.  Definitely a favorite.  Wow, I could go on and on, but I'll leave it at those two, since choosing one is too hard.

4. What's your all time favorite novel and/or writer? Why?
And I thought the last question was hard.  When it comes to books, there are many that stay with me years after I've read them.  One is The Saving Graces by Patricia Gaffney.  What a powerful, poignant story.  It had me in tears.  More recently, I read Joseph Finder's Paranoia and it was such a unique suspense novel, it blew me away.  And one of the classics, To Kill A Mockingbird.  Love, love, love it.  What an incredible story about racial injustice.  Maybe that's my all time favorite novel.  I'm going to quit while I'm ahead, or I'll list twenty plus books!

5. What do you like best about being a writer?
I could say that I love working in my pajamas, or that I don't have to drive to the office...and those are great perks, yes.  But the absolute best thing about being a published writer is that I am living my dream.  Ever since I could hold a pencil and write words, I've been telling stories.  Never did I imagine that I could ever get paid for doing that, and yet, I've made a living doing what I love most in the world.  It doesn't get any better than that.
